The Summer House

Perched on a hilltop, in the picturesque town of Kasauli, lies this elegant homestay; The Summer House. It is an ideal hideaway for all those searching for some peace and quiet away from the hectic cities and the quintessential urban clamour. This cheery abode amidst luxuriant Himalayan greens is where love flourishes, where frames festooned on the ivy walls speak of freedom fighters’ legacies, and where the birds tweeting and crickets chirping is indeed a natural melody for the ears. A pastel palette follows throughout the home, with oranges, blues and pinks, complementing Kasauli’s soothing aura. The walls are ornamented with characteristic hand-painted branches that serve as a distinct brand. And what’s more? Immerse yourself in the literary arts  & surround yourself with your tribe, some good times, good food, and nature in its purest form.

– Geysers, towels, toiletries
– A secured parking space that can accommodate up to 4 cars

This is not a wheelchair-friendly property. Pets are allowed.

The Space:

BEDROOMS
-There are 4 well-furnished bedrooms – one on the ground floor, two on the first floor and one on the second floor.
– 3 of the 4 rooms have an attached balcony overlooking the scenic views.
– The fourth room is in the form of a cosy attic with a slanted roof, best suited for kids and people of medium height.
– All rooms are equipped with comfortable king-sized beds, an extra single bed, AC, heater, Wi-Fi, TV, wardrobe, electric kettle.
– All rooms are equipped with an ensuite bathroom.
– Each bedroom has a separate workstation, equipped with a comfortable desk and chair. 

BATHROOMS
– There are 4 attached and 1 common powder room – situated on the ground floor.
– All attached bathrooms are equipped with geysers, towels, and basic toiletries.
– The ensuite bathroom of the attic has a low height owing to the slanted roof.

COMMON AREAS
– As soon as you enter this soothing abode, you will be welcomed by quaint indoor spaces in a calming soothing palette. 
– The entrance of the property boasts a beautiful viewing deck, with alfresco seating, overlooking the surrounding scenery. 
– There are two such expansive rooms – one on the ground floor and the other on the first floor.
– The living room on the ground floor with its lounge setting, wired music system & heater can easily seat up to 7 people.
– It also has a stocked bookshelf with a curated collection of reads, ideal for all book-lovers. 
– The living room on the first floor with a separate workstation can accommodate up to 4 people.
– Both the rooms are equipped with Wi-Fi and a heater.
– The dining area is a component of the living room on the ground floor. It can seat up to 8 people.
– The exteriors of the villa boast two sprawling green lawns with scenic vistas of the azure skies and green valley. There is a designated kids area as well to keep your little ones entertained

KITCHEN
– Guests do not have access to the kitchen premises.
– It is equipped with a water purifier, crockery, and cutlery.

FOOD
– All other meals can be provided in-house on an a la carte basis.
– Consumption of non-vegetarian food is allowed.

GUEST ACCESS
The guests have access to the entire villa. In response to the COVID-19 pandemic, guests may have restricted access to any shared amenities.

INTERACTION WITH GUESTS
The host is not present at the property but is always accessible via call or message. A trained and responsible caretaker is present at the property to resolve any concerns and help you have a perfect stay. 

STAFF ACCOMMODATION
We can provide accommodation for your personal staff for up to 2 males and 2 females for an additional cost of Rs.1000 per person exclusive of meals.

ACTIVITIES 
Within the property’s premises, guests can choose from an array of activities. Enjoy competitive rounds of board games with your peers. The lawns with their verdant green hues has ample space for a bunch of outdoor activities. So let your inner child out and play with your loved ones to your heart’s content. Select a cozy nook in the library to read some of the best literary masterpieces. And what’s more? Huddle up for a night of infinite memories.

ADD-ON SERVICES
– Barbecue setup can be availed at an additional cost. Ingredients will be charged as per actuals.
– Guests can use the washing machine at an additional cost of Rs.500 per two pieces.
– A bonfire can also be availed at an extra cost of Rs.1000 per hour.

– Pets are allowed at an additional cost of Rs. 2000 per day, only one pet is allowed
– Prices may vary subject to availability and peak season rates.

HOME TRUTHS
While we do promise you a welcoming home and a great stay, here are a few things we’d like to mention so as to ensure there are no unpleasant surprises later!
– In case of power outages, the generator can support all plug points and basic lights for up to 6 hours.
– The villa is located in a secluded area.
– It is a standalone property and is not wheelchair accessible as there are a series of steps leading towards it.
– All male groups and youngsters are not allowed.
– Guests can stay connected with complimentary Wi-Fi. Although, network is subject to availability at any given time.
– All mobile networks work fairly well there.
– The property features a CCTV camera on the exterior areas for security purposes.

HOUSE RULES
– Please be mindful and keep noise to a minimum after 10 PM.
– Alcohol consumption is allowed in designated areas. 
– Smoking is allowed in the exterior areas of the villa only. 
– Guests are earnestly requested to treat the home with care.

POLICIES
– The full payment must be made for your booking to be confirmed.
– The number of guests must not exceed the count mentioned at the time of booking.
– Only the guests who have been accounted for are allowed at the villa.
– All guests must be able to share valid ID proofs when asked. This could be at the time of booking, and also upon arrival.
– All foreign nationals must be able to share their passport and visa details prior to their stay.
– Any damage to the property caused by the guest will be charged as per the actual cost of repair or replacement.
– Any illegal activity – including but not limited to prostitution and the use of narcotics – is strictly not permitted.
– Any commercial activity is strictly not permitted.
– A refundable deposit may be collected before check-in. 
– This entire amount is refunded within 5 working days, provided the total number of guests does not increase and the check-out time is adhered to.
