Springfield is a regal bungalow built in the British era and was once the summer residence to the family of Lord Sinha, set amidst lush gardens & forestry in the heart of Kasauli. As soon as you set foot in this historical home, you know you’re in for a treat. But even that doesn’t prepare you for the elegant sloped roofs, exquisite fireplaces and mantelpieces, attractive airy rooms with stained glass that have been refurbished to incorporate all modern amenities to make sure you feel like royalty. This enchanting cottage comes with a quaint dining room and spacious outdoor areas to enjoy scrumptious barbecue meals, morning espressos and evening glasses of fine wine as you breathe in the fresh air. If all that wasn’t enough – the patio offers you scintillating views of the sunrise and surrounding hills. Springfield was built decades ago, using stone walls and has recently been renovated to create a perfect blend of the old and the new, along with lavish & cosy furnishing and amenities. With a fabulous location in the heart of Kasauli, there are plenty of quaint vintage cafes for a hearty meal and the Christ Church if you want to explore the history of this vicinity a little more. You can also head to Monkey Point or Sunset Point, just a few minutes away from the home, while the iconic Mall Road is a fifteen-minute stroll from here. This is neither a wheelchair-friendly, nor a pet-friendly property.

The Space:

BEDROOMS
– There are 4 spacious bedrooms – 3 on the ground floor and 1 on the first floor of the property.
– Each of these bedrooms are bejewelled with aesthetic furnishings and are equipped with a plethora of amenities including comfortable king-sized beds, all-weather AC, wardrobes, Wi-Fi access and ensuite bathrooms.

BATHROOMS
– There are 4 attached bathrooms.
– All bathrooms offer geysers, towels and toiletries.
– Hair-dryers can be provided on request.

COMMON AREAS
– There is a cosy living room on the ground floor of the property, offering comfortable seating for up to 14 people.
– This living area is equipped with an all-weather AC, portable music system and WiFi.
– On particularly chilly days, guests can snuggle up by the cosy lounge area as they read while enjoying a hot cup of cacao.
– There is a separate dining room that offers comfortable seating for up to 6 people.
– This peaceful abode consists of charming terrace gardens that cover an area of about 500 sq. ft. with ample seating space for up to 10 people.
– With a quaint sun-room on the first floor offering astounding views, guests can enjoy bird-watching or just sit-back, relax and embrace nature as the evening sky changes hues.

KITCHEN
– Guests may use the kitchen to make simple food for infants, but not for elaborate cooking.
– It is equipped with a microwave, gas stove, refrigerator, water purifier, toaster and a mixer-grinder. 
– Crockery and cutlery are available.

FOOD
– Vegetarian and non-vegetarian meals can be provided at an additional cost.
– A barbecue kit/meal can be arranged at an extra charge.
– The costs for the aforementioned food and beverage offerings and events are subject to an 18% GST charge.
– Prices and items may vary subject to availability and peak season rates.
– Consumption of non-vegetarian food is allowed.

GUEST ACCESS
The guests have access to the entire villa except the kitchen area. In response to the COVID-19 pandemic, guests may have restricted access to any shared amenities.

INTERACTION WITH GUESTS
The host is not always present at the property but is always accessible via call/message. A trained and responsible caretaker is also present at the property to resolve any concerns and help you have a perfect stay. The caretaker will be available from 9 AM to 6 PM. 

STAFF ACCOMMODATION
We can provide accommodation for one staff member at an additional cost of Rs. 1500 per night. The cost for staff meals will align with that of adult meals, and an 18% GST charge will be added to these charges.

ACTIVITIES
Within the property, guests can snuggle up by the bonfire or play indoor games like cards and ludo, that are available at the property. A bonfire can be lit up in the quaint lawn as the guests relish a hearty barbeque meal by the fire. If outdoors are not your favourite place to lounge around, feel free to snuggle up by the living room lounge area. Guests can take a peaceful walk by the garden or around the property & embrace the beauty of the mountains of Kasauli.

ADD-ON SERVICES
– Washing machines can be used at an additional cost of Rs.1000 per day. 
– A bonfire can be lit up at an additional cost of Rs. 1500, for up to 2 hours.
– Prices may vary subject to availability and peak season rates.

HOME TRUTHS
While we do promise you a welcoming home and a great stay, here are a few things we’d like to mention so as to ensure there are no unpleasant surprises later!
– Bachelor or hen parties are not allowed. 
– This is not a pet-friendly property.
– Personal staff will be accommodated in the staff quarters only. 
– Please note that the fireplaces are not meant to be used in the interest of the safety of the bungalow and the guests.
– In case of a power outage, the inverter can support lights & fans for up to 4 hours.
– All mobile networks work fairly well here.
– Consumption of non-vegetarian food is allowed.
– Please be mindful and keep noise to a minimum after 10 PM.
– There are CCTV cameras that capture the external areas for security purposes. 
– The caretaker stays on the premises of the same property, in the staff quarters. 
– Guests can stay connected with complimentary Wi-Fi. Network is subject to availability at any given time.

HOUSE RULES
– Alcohol consumption is allowed.
– Smoking is allowed in the exterior areas of the villa only. 
– Guests are earnestly requested to treat the home with care.

POLICIES
– The full payment must be made for your booking to be confirmed.
– The number of guests must not exceed the count mentioned at the time of booking.
– Only the guests who have been accounted for are allowed at the villa.
– All guests must be able to share valid ID proofs when asked. This could be at the time of booking, and also upon arrival.
– All foreign nationals must be able to share their passport and visa details prior to their stay.
– Any damage to the property caused by the guest will be charged as per the actual cost of repair or replacement.
– Any illegal activity – including but not limited to prostitution and the use of narcotics – is strictly not permitted.
– Any commercial activity is strictly not permitted.
– A refundable deposit may be collected before check-in. 
– This entire amount is refunded within 5 working days, provided the total number of guests does not increase and the check-out time is adhered to.
