Romarika Cottage – Mashobra

As idyllic as it gets, this oasis of quietude just on the edge of a lush Deodhar and Pine forest reserve is for those who seek respite away from the din and chaos of their everyday lives. Emanating a calming aura, this charming chalet paints a picture right out of fable with its lush green lawns drawing the twittering birds, buzzing bees, and a plethora of beautiful species of butterflies. With every nook offering a magnificent view of the shades of nature; this cosy home sets a mellow yet amorous mood to reconnect with oneself as well as with your loved ones. This classic hideaway was designed with hollow bricks and locally sourced materials to promote the idea of sustainability and environmental friendliness and was prompted by the prospect of living in harmony with nature. In addition, this cosy home features facilities for rainwater harvesting, which is then subsequently channeled into a nearby creek where native trees have been planted to minimise soil erosion.

With an abundance of treks and trails around the property, all adventure enthusiasts can start their day with a scenic trek to the Shali Peak. Golfers can also enjoy a pleasant experience at the Naldehra Golf Course, which is only 5 kilometres from the cottage. Furthermore, due to its ideal location, Shimla’s major tourist attractions are just a stone’s throw away. Indeed a vintage-maudlin haven nestled right below the starry skies, this home oozing with unending comfort is definitely worth a visit!

The Space:

BEDROOMS
– There are 3 cosy bedrooms emanating a calm aura with wooden aesthetics – 1 on the ground floor and 2 on the first floor.
– All bedrooms are furnished with a plethora of amenities such as a king-sized bed, extra mattress, Wi-Fi access, wardrobe, and a heater.
– One of the rooms also offers a TV.
– All bedrooms also offer a cosy seating space adorned with couches.
– One room on the ground floor and one on the first floor also has an attached balcony overlooking the viridescent hues of the garden and hills around.
– One of the rooms on the ground floor also has a decorative fireplace to which guests do not have access.

BATHROOMS
– There are 3 ensuite bathrooms.
– All bathrooms are equipped with geysers, towels, and basic toiletries.

COMMON AREAS
– As you step through the canopied gates of this charming abode, you’ll find a spacious living room complete with chic-wooden furnishings and Kashmiri carpets on the ground floor.
– The living room with its lounge-type seating is equipped with a plethora of amenities such as a TV, heater, Wi-Fi, and a portable Bluetooth speaker.
– It has ample seating space for about 9 people.
– Your walk through the living room will lead you to a cosy dining area; which is a component of the living room.
– It can accommodate up to 6 people and is equipped with a heater.
– The first floor also features a landing area.
– The exteriors of this quaint abode boast a pastoral colour palette of verdancy with a wrap-around lawn brimming with various flowers and plants.
– There is another sprawling lawn on the premises that covers an area of about 700 sq.ft.
– It features ample seating space in the form of movable chairs that can seat up to 12 people.
– As you make your way through the lush green lawn, spend your evenings admiring the vivid hues of the sky from the gazebo.
– Placed literally on the edge of the forest reserve, this gazebo is quite ideal for some bird-watching and star gazing.
– The gazebo can comfortably seat up to 8 people at a time.

KITCHEN
– Guests do not have access to the kitchen.
– It is equipped with a water purifier, crockery, and cutlery.

FOOD
– Breakfast can be provided at an extra charge of Rs. 250 per person.
– Snacks can also be provided at an additional charge.
– All vegetarian meals can be provided in-house at an additional cost of Rs. 500 per person, per meal.
– All non-vegetarian meals can be provided in-house at an additional cost of Rs. 650 per person, per meal.
– Alternatively, guests can enjoy food for local eateries. However, please note that order in and consumption of outside food is not allowed inside the premises of the property.
– A complimentary tea/coffee will be served twice a day. If they wish for an additional serving, an extra charge for the same will be levied.
– Consumption of non-vegetarian food is allowed.

GUEST ACCESS
Guests have access to the entire villa except for the kitchen. In response to the COVID-19 pandemic, guests may have restricted access to any shared amenities.

INTERACTION WITH GUESTS
The host is not present at the property but is always accessible via call or message. A trained and responsible caretaker is present to resolve any concerns and help you have a perfect stay.

STAFF ACCOMMODATION
We are unable to provide accommodation for your personal staff.

ACTIVITIES
Nestled in the midst of greenery, lies this quaint property which features a multitude of activities to indulge in. These carefully designed experiences ensure that you and your tribe have a pleasant and unforgettable stay with us. Within the premises of the property, guests can enjoy some quality family time while playing some indoor board games. The gazebo ensures you get the best view of the starry night or dusky mornings. Get to hear the twittering birds, the buzzing of the bees, and whistling of the cool northern winds from every nook of this cosy chalet. Stroll along the expanse of the green lawn or let your inner child out to play an array of outdoor fun games. Find a peaceful nook and immerse yourself in the literary world by grabbing a book off the shelves while also sipping on your hot cuppa.  When the chilly air sets in, guests can request a bonfire to be lit up. Guests can also visit the nearby Naldera Golf Course or choose to satisfy their inner wanderlust by going on treks and trails around the property whilst also collecting a handful of pine cones that can be found along the way.

ADD-ON SERVICES
– Guests can access the washing machine at an extra cost only if a stay of over 5 days has been booked by them.
– Barbeque can be arranged at an additional cost, grocery will be on actuals.
– A bonfire setup can be availed at an additional charge of Rs. 1000 for 2 hours.
– Prices may vary subject to availability and peak season rates.

HOME TRUTHS
While we do promise you a welcoming home and a great stay, here are a few things we’d like to mention so as to ensure there are no unpleasant surprises later!
– One of the rooms on the ground floor also has a decorative fireplace to which guests do not have access.
– Please note that it takes approximately 30 stairs to reach the main villa.
– All-male groups are not allowed.
– This is not a pet-friendly property.
– In case of a power outage, the inverter can support all appliances for up to 6 hours.
– All mobile networks work fairly well here.
– Please be mindful and keep noise to a minimum after 10 PM. Loud music is not allowed post 10 PM.
– Guests can stay connected with complimentary Wi-Fi. Network is subject to availability at any given time.
– There are CCTV cameras that capture the external areas of this property.
– The stay is a part of a gated society.
– The caretaker resides near the premises of the property.
– Guests are requested to be environment-conscious and be sensitive towards the use of water.
– Please note that the use of plastic bags is not advisable; there are cloth bags at the property for your disposal which can be used while on your stay at the property.

HOUSE RULES
– Please be mindful and keep noise to a minimum after 10 PM. Loud music is not allowed post 10 PM.
– Alcohol consumption is allowed in designated areas.
– Smoking is allowed in the exterior areas of the villa only.
– Guests are earnestly requested to treat the home with care.

POLICIES
– The full payment must be made for your booking to be confirmed.
– The number of guests must not exceed the count mentioned at the time of booking.
– Only the guests who have been accounted for are allowed at the villa.
– All guests must be able to share valid ID proofs when asked. This could be at the time of booking, and also upon arrival.
– All foreign nationals must be able to share their passport and visa details prior to their stay.
– Any damage to the property caused by the guest will be charged as per the actual cost of repair or replacement.
– Any illegal activity – including but not limited to prostitution and the use of narcotics – is strictly not permitted.
– Any commercial activity is strictly not permitted.
– A refundable deposit may be collected before check-in.
– This entire amount is refunded within 5 working days, provided the total number of guests does not increase and the check-out time is adhered to.
