Stepping into this peaceful abode almost feels like entering a paradise-like holiday home, nestled in the quaint hilltop of Kasauli. The winding paths leading up to the property promise unending panoramas of the pine and deodar forests; you can only imagine the charm of the cottage! For those who have an appreciation for the vintage, Destine is the place to be. Creeping vines cling to the stone-clad facade of the home that are charismatic from every angle. This villa will teleport you to the yesteryears – the olden wallpapers, the antique furnishings and the retro knick-knacks all set a mood for a holiday that is quite unlike the others. The cottage is plenished with gorgeous interiors, a beautiful lawn, sit-out areas and a deck with mountain views to be savoured. With such surroundings, one can enjoy a lovely walk through the forest. If you decide to stay in, you can enjoy the company of a book while you sit by the fireplace.

The Space:

BEDROOMS
– There are 4 bedrooms – 1 on the ground floor, 2 on the first floor, 1 on the second floor of the main villa.
– Each bedroom is equipped with a plethora of amenities to ensure your utmost comfort including a heater, king-sized beds, electric kettle and an ensuite bathroom.
– Extra mattresses can be provided on request.
– All bedrooms overlook the serene views of the mountains and valleys.
– The room on the second floor, in the attic opens up to an attached balcony.
Please note that there are a total of 6 bedrooms and if this listing is booked, guests will have access to 4 bedrooms.

BATHROOMS
– There are 5 bathrooms – 4 attached, and 1 common.
– All bathrooms have geysers, towels and basic toiletries.
– A separate dressing area is offered in all the bathrooms.
– 1 bathroom has a bathtub.

COMMON AREAS
– Step into this home and welcome serene spaces that are clad with vintage wallpapers, wooden furnishings and a refreshing mountain breeze.
– There is a spacious drawing room on the ground floor that is equipped with sofa-style seating arrangements for 8 people.
– It is equipped with a heater and the scenic bay window overlooks the surrounding scenery.
– The living room opens up to a parlour that is replenished with seating arrangements and an indoor fireplace.
– There is a separate dining room, clad in flowery wallpaper, wooden furnishings and seating for up to 10 people.
– Walk up the stairs, and you will find yourself in the presence of walls etched with sketches and paintings.
– Guests will be surprised by the TV room that is ornamented with never-seen-before wallpapers, a heater and plush seating for up to 10 people.
– Head further up the creaking wooden floors and land in a book lover’s paradise! Stocked with books to read and a comfortable lounging chair, the attic is perfect for snuggling with a book to read.
– The exteriors of the property feature manicured lawns, furnished with outdoor furnishings, perfect for relaxing amidst the air of Kasauli.
– It leads to the viewing deck that overlooks gorgeous landscapes.

KITCHEN
– Guests do not have kitchen access.
– Crockery and cutlery are available.

FOOD
– All other meals can be provided at an additional cost, a la carte. Guests are requested to inform the caretaker about their meal preferences at least 2 days prior to their check-in.
– Guests may also opt to eat out at the nearby Glenview Hotel and Doji Pizzeria.
– Outside food is not allowed.
– Consumption of non-vegetarian food is allowed.
– Guests are requested to adhere to the meal timings.

GUEST ACCESS
There are 2 units – a villa and a cottage. Guests have access to the entire villa except the kitchen and owner’s bedroom. In response to the COVID-19 pandemic, guests may have restricted access to shared amenities.

INTERACTION WITH GUESTS
A trained and responsible caretaker is also present at the property to resolve any concerns and help you have a perfect stay.

STAFF ACCOMMODATION
We can provide accommodation for 1 female staff member at an additional cost of Rs. 1000 per day, exclusive of meal charges. We are unable to provide accommodation for male staff members at the property, but they can be accommodated at a nearby homestay. However, that is subject to availability. Commercial drivers are not permitted at the property (on any account).

ACTIVITIES
Promising to be a blissful getaway, as you drive up the roads of the property, you will be left in a trance that will only grow once you step in. Ditch your alarm clocks, as you wake up in the company of sweet birdsongs and misty air. Begin your days with a leisurely stroll in the gardens. Proceed to devour a scrumptious breakfast outdoors, engulfed in the lap of nature. As the day progresses, kick back and unwind in the parlour, or head over to the TV room to binge your favourite movies. Come evening, make sure you relish a barbecue meal amidst the panoramas of the Kasauli. During the chilly nights, a warm bonfire can be arranged. Go home rejuvenated and with a bag of memories.

ADDITIONAL COSTS
– Bonfire can be arranged at an additional cost of Rs.750 per session.
– Barbeque meals can be arranged at an additional cost of Rs. 500 per filling. Guests may prepare their own barbecue meals.
– Laundry services can be availed at an additional cost.
– Prices may vary subject to availability and peak season rates.

HOME TRUTHS
While we do promise you a welcoming home and a great stay, here are a few things we’d like to mention so as to ensure there are no unpleasant surprises later!
– Please note that there are a total of 6 bedrooms and if this listing is booked, guests will have access to 4 bedrooms and the common areas.
– The property is a bit secluded.
– In case of a power outage, there is a 40 KVA generator.
– There are approximately 30 steps leading up to the villa.
– The caretaker stays in the premises of the same property.
– There are 3 bedrooms on the first floor of the main villa, however, 1 room is locked and guests do not have access to it.
– Guests can stay connected with complimentary Wi-Fi provided in the villa. The network is subject to availability at any given time. The cottage is not equipped with Wi-Fi access.

HOUSE RULES
– Loud music is not allowed post 10 PM.
– Stag groups are not allowed
– Alcohol consumption is allowed only outdoors.
– Smoking is allowed only outdoors.
– Guests are earnestly requested to treat the home with care.
– Guests are requested to adhere to the meal timings.

POLICIES
– The full payment must be made for your booking to be confirmed.
– The number of guests must not exceed the count mentioned at the time of booking.
– Only the guests who have been accounted for are allowed at the villa.
– All guests must be able to share valid ID proofs when asked. This could be at the time of booking, and also upon arrival.
– All foreign nationals must be able to share their passport and visa details prior to their stay.
– Any damage to the property caused by the guest will be charged as per the actual cost of repair or replacement.
– Any illegal activity – including but not limited to prostitution and the use of narcotics – is strictly not permitted.
– Any commercial activity is strictly not permitted.
– A refundable deposit may be collected before check-in.
– This entire amount is refunded within two working days, provided the total number of guests does not increase and the check-out time is adhered to.
